I was a little reluctant when I first saw Armadillo Willy's - it looks like one of those BBQ joints that is too cute by half, i.e. it looks like it's trying so hard to be authentic that they probably don't put enough effort into the actual food. But I was surprised. The pulled pork sandwich had lots of smoke ring, was very fresh, and their fries were great. Their two sauces, spicy and regular, were very similar, but that's how it is at most barbecue chains. BUT, the sauce was served on the side, which is always appreciated. If they had a location in Southern California I would certainly frequent it.
